Games Workshop and Black Library asked the fans to vote and thousands turned out to do just that. Here’s the fan voted Book of the Year!

A few weeks ago Games Workshop asked for fans to let their voices be heard and vote for their favorite Black Library novel from 2024. Well now the votes have been counted and the results are in. Apparently, this year had a fairly even spread — except for the winner which “ran away with the win.”

“The votes for the Black Library Book of the Year have closed after many thousands of you chimed in – and what a year it’s been! We’ve had a variety of xenos both as antagonists and protagonists, plenty of intrigue and action from the Imperium, and aftershocks felt across the Mortal Realms as the Skaven achieved their grand plan. “

Black Library Book of the Year

Siege of Vraks by Steve Lyons was voted as the #1 by the fans for the Black Library Book of the Year. Here’s what WarCom had to say:

“Steve Lyons wins with Siege of Vraks, a novel that tackles an infamous conflict from the perspective of the warriors in the trenches. It’s a gruelling meat grinder that solidified the Kriegers’ reputation as ruthless, uncompromising fighters. This brilliant novel digs away at the grime and horror to find the unexpected humanity beneath, making it a vital retelling of a harrowing siege. “

If you’re looking for a novel that’s got all the grimdark you can chew on then check out the one voted for by the fans! That said, there’s some really good reads in the top 10 to choose from as well.

#2 – Eidolon: The Auric Hammer by Marc Collins

Black Library Reading Time

Personally, I’m pretty far behind on my reading list. I really need to get in on this whole audio book thing. Listening while I paint seems like a fantastic way to hobby. And I know this because it’s what I’m doing already…just not with BL Novels.

If you’re looking to just dip your toe into the pool of stories that are from the Black Library you can actually get a free eBook from Black Library with select purchases. The deal lasts until April 20th as part of the Black Library Celebration. Check those T’s & C’s for more details.
