Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist: Abaddon’s Pactbound Morons of Chaos

Last weekend I went with a Creations of Bile Possessed Bomb list that uses Abaddon as a core to get a bunch of 3 Wound Possessed a 4+ invulnerable save – plus a bunch of Vindicators. BOOM BOOM BOOM!
This past weekend I played an event in Houston called the Clutch City GT. I decided to throw an audible and try a CSM list out I tested once but was a very simple build. I went with a Creations of Bile Possessed Bomb list that planned on utilizing Abaddon as the “central” piece to get a bunch of 3 Wound Possessed a 4+ invulnerable save. A pile of wounds supporting the gun platform of 3 Vindicators to win the game.
It did alright and while the Possessed were ok the whole point of Creations of Bile didn’t add a lot to it. The way the army won with was the 3 Vindicators would get a ton of time to spread their love to the enemy. The Possessed gummed up the table, my troops scored the backfield, and the Vindicators shot the crap out of the enemy.
What I found while playing it was the cute “extra” rules from Creation of Bile didn’t really matter. In fact I just rolled it, laughed if I got a +1 BS roll, and hopefully remembered the rules when pushing my Possessed up the battlefield. This had me thinking why even use Creations and instead look towards Pactbound Zealots as a method to super charge the true stars of the show – the Vindicators.

Abaddon’s Pactbound Morons of Chaos Tactics
The design is pretty simple. I use Slaanesh for a lot of things to get access to Advance and Charge amongst the things that need it. The Nurgle Vindicators get exploding 5’s for their Dark Pacts if they pass. All the Slaanesh stuff has exploding 5’s for close combat. The Nemesis Claw can help turn things off and I have some play with a Rhino that can run around.
I wish I could have a Chaos Lord vs a Master of Executions but the Claw costs a bit more than the Legionaries I would replace them with. It is one of the things I will think about if I could use more Powerfist punching or turning off Strats as I test this out again. It feels like it is a decent army, easy enough to play, and can do what I normally like to do in a game. Push a ton of idiots up the board and hopefully outscore you.
Also… just shoot things with Vindicators always works.
