Horus Heresy: New ‘Magaera & Styrix’ Knight Variants Coming To Legions Imperialis

Games Workshop is showing off a pair of new knights coming to Legions Imperialis. Get ready for the Magaera and Styrix on the tabletop.

Regardless of which side of the Mechanicum split you find your loyalties on you’ll be able to bring these Questoris variant to the fight. The Magaera and Styrix Knights have some unique tools that they are more than ready to use on their enemies. Their upcoming plastic kit will contain enough bits to build four versions of either the Knights Magaera or Knights Styrix.

Rare among the cohort of Questoris variants, the Magaera and Styrix are enhanced with a number of sophisticated upgrades which make them mechanical marvels compared to their peers.

Each is equipped with the grasping and rending Hekaton siege claw, while the Magaera wields a lightning cannon – one of the Mechanicum’s favoured weapons – and the Styrix is armed with a volkite chieorovile designed to deflagrate flesh and strip shields.

These knight variants are special in other ways besides their firepower. They also come with improved defensive equipment. An Ionic Flare Shield helps keep them safe from damage while a Blessed Auti-simulacra slowly repairs the damage these knights do sustain.

However you want to slice it these two Knights bring utility to the board. Their Hekaton siege claw packs a punch while their choice of ranged attack defines both their name and their respective role. Both options are deadly in their own way — just point them at the right target and let them get to work.

This new plastic kit is also designed for both Legions Imperialis and also Adeptus Titanicus. You’ll get command terminals for use with Adeptus Titanicus in their box, too. As far as their rules for Legions Imperialis, you can find those in the core rulebook for Legions Imperialis. There are also additional options that you can find in The Rise of the Dark Mechanicum book.
