Huge LEGO HALO UNSC Paris-Class Frigate Has 25,000 Pieces and Remembers REACH

This massive LEGO HALO UNSC Paris-Class Heavy Frigate includes thousands of pieces and is ready to fight the Covenant.
Halo is a long running epic sci-fi gaming franchise. While most of the action in the games follows individuals in some sort of shooter format (Halo Wars is one exception), all the running and gunning takes place against a vast background of a massive space war. And this space war is of course full of space ships. So many that they made a whole tabletop game about that aspect.
In Halo, the UNSC is the fleet that fights to protect humanity and our worlds. One of the most important ships used by the UNSC is the Paris-Class Heavy Frigate. Though it’s one of the smaller UNSC ships, being classified as an escort, it’s also one of the most important.
Pound-for-pound, it’s a very cost-effective ship that proved a mainstay of the fleet. The class was in use from before the start of the Human-Covenant war and was used throughout, being instrumental in the final defense of the Earth. They were normally used in small groups.

LEGO UNSC Paris-Class
Now fellow Texan Steve Witt has brought one of these ships to LEGO life in truly massive detail. Dubbed the Katara (yes, after the AtLA character), Steve’s ship is truly massive at nearly seven feet long and weighing over 112 pouds. Sadly, this is one ship you won’t be whooshing around! You can check out Steve and his other works at stevefromouterspace.com, or on his fliker or Instagram.
Built in five separate sections, this ship also took about five years to build. And you can see why – there are just a ton of details on the outside of this massive build. There is just a ton of greebling and texture work done here to break up the grey surfaces of the ship, and it all pays off.
This is a build that looks very impressive both from close-up and far away. It’s also fully lit, with over 150 lights built into the structure. It’s just impressive work!
Check out this interview in which Steve talks extensively about the building process.

Here are a few more of the coolest details on the ship.

Build a Classic LEGO Spaceship
LEGO doesn’t have the HALO license, but it offers plenty of epic spaceship kits you can pick up off the shelf to build. One of the coolest new ones is the Blacktron Renegade. It’s a return to early LEGO space-themed ships. Like the Paris-class, the Renegade has that kind of split-up hull look with a rugged build and is just a cool-looking ship.
