Make Your Game Nights Jura-Ssick With These Dinosaur Games

Whether you prefer a “Clever Girl” or a very good boy like Littlefoot, we’ve all had that dinosaur phase. Let’s revisit that in game form.
I found out recently that one of my very best friends had never seen Jurassic Park. And that couldn’t stand! So I hunting it down and put it on while ranting about it being a masterpiece and perfectly balancing computer graphics and practical effects and Spielberg directing Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List back to back—which feels like whiplash to me—and no you don’t need to watch all of them, not all of them are good, but this one deserves the hype, etc.
I’m not sure if she listened to any of that rant, but she did watch the whole movie with me and listened to all of my fun facts. Now she sends me “Clever Girl” memes whenever she sees them. Which is the most I could have asked for.
But whether we’re seeing them in movies, visiting some skeletons at the museum, or adding them to games, dinosaurs are fun. And isn’t that what we’re here for?
Dinosaur Island

Sure, that other dinosaur adventure theme park on an island didn’t work out, but yours could be different. Dinosaur Island is a competitive strategy board game where you try to open the best dino theme park, hire the best personnel and the most exciting attractions. Collect DND, make dinosaurs, and open up your very safe theme park where nothing will go wrong ever and guests will have a good, safe time.
Happy Little Dinosaurs

Does life feel like a total disaster lately? You know, just… everything? That’s okay, we’re going to be like the happy little dinosaur and just dodge all of that. We’re ignoring our inner demons, we’re avoiding the lava pits, and if any rocks are falling from the sky, no they aren’t. Sometimes we want to have a little fun with nihilism, and that’s okay.
Planegea

Sure, 5E already has a few dinosaurs to add to your game… but what if we played in a world built mix the magic settings you know with a dino-filled world? I’m always a fan of putting a twist on a game or trope that I already love, and Planegea does that so well. So sure, have an elf fight a raptor, why not? That sounds awesome.
Predation

If you want your dinosaur game to have a little more of a sci-fi spin, Predation creates a world where humans have gone back in time roughly 66 million years and then get stuck. You can play as time travelers stuck in time, or the ancestors of those time colonists. Either way, it’s an entry point to a fun story and adventure.
Chomp

Whether you’re a carnivore or a herbivore, it’s a tough eat-or-be-eaten world out there for dinosaurs, and in Chomp you’ll work to be the one doing the eating in eight turns. Players choose goals, and work their strategy in order to build their land, feed their herds, score the most points, have the most well-fed dinosaurs, and win.
