Marvel: Crisis Protocol – ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Affiliation Pack Unboxed
There’s a new Guardians of the Galaxy Affiliation Pack and we’ve got it on hand to show off the contents for Marvel: Crisis Protocol!
The Affiliation Packs for Marvel: Crisis Protocol are a great entry point for the game. They allow players to grab one big box that’s got characters from a specific Affiliation. This makes list building easy and allows for a really clean launching pad into trying other squads. Today, we’re taking a look inside the box of the new Guardians of the Galaxy Affiliation Pack. Atomic Mass Games sent me a review copy and I’m excited to get into this one.

One of the things to note about this pack is that none of these characters are new. In fact, most of them have been around the block and have even gotten an update or two. One of the nice things for veteran players is that the cards in this pack are the newest versions. They have their updated rules and new style cards. I actually already owned all four of these characters so I’m glad to get the updated cards.
Inside the box, you’ve got all the stuff you’d expect from an AMG product. The cards and tokens are in their own plastic bag while all the sprues are in another. I don’t mention this often but there’s also a plain piece of cardboard in the box that separates the cards and the sprues. My guess is that it’s there so the cards don’t get dented in shipping. Anyhow, this one has all the cards you’d need to play with Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Star-Lord, and Cosmic Ghost Rider.
Along with all the cards for both the characters and their respective team tactic cards, you’ve also got the tokens. Additionally, there’s full play sets for the cards in all the supported languages, too. I also believe some of the team tactic cards may have gotten updated art. Finally, we’ve got the sprues and bases. Again, these shouldn’t be a big shock to anyone as these miniatures aren’t new. These are the same ones with the same sculpts. That’s not a bad thing as I quite like all of them. Personally, I think I might paint up these versions in a different way than my first batch. I might try to make them all more unified — or maybe I’ll try to paint them more like the their movie versions. We’ll see!

The Guardians of the Galaxy come together in CP222. Bringing Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot and one of their newest members, the Cosmic Ghost Rider in one pack. Players can use other Guardians of the Galaxy with these characters to grow their collection.
Each character brings their unique abilities, powers and tactics to this affiliation pack. Star-Lord is an expert marksman and a clever tactician. Rocket is a deadly marksman, and cunning explosives expert whose friend Groot has exceptional strength and the ability to regenerate damage. Their bond gives them abilities and bonuses. They are joined by the Cosmic Ghostrider who is a powerhouse on the battlefield.
This is the pack you want to get first if you’re looking to start a Guardians Affiliation!
