Chaosium’s RPG of chivalric virtues and knightly vice has run into delays for the upcoming Pendragon Gamemaster’s Guide.

Pendragon has been enjoying something of a renaissance these days, which is ironic considering how rooted the game is in a medieval aesthetic. And now that the history majors in our audience have had their weekly allotment of joy, they can return to trying to get anyone to understand that all of this has happened before, and we keep making the same mistakes over and over again while contemplating just how much caffeine can sustain the human body.

But Pendragon’s resurgence hits a slight snag as global shipping issues once again cause a delay.

Pre-orders for the book have been pushed to March 26th. So you’ll have to wait a little longer before you can get your hands on the tools for running Arthurian legend at your roleplaying table. Whether you hope to find a Knight who rides Invisible or a guy who is just really hairy and ugly, it might all be in the Gamemaster’s Guide.

Pendragon Gamemaster’s Guide Delayed – Pre-Orders Open March 26th

Per an announcement on Chaosium’s blog, the book will not be available next week. But when you pre-order, you get a PDF immediately, so you can start running and prepping and planning as soon as March 26th.

“Assemble, knights of Arthur! Due to global shipping delays beyond our control, the Pendragon: Gamemaster’s Handbook will not be available next week. Instead, for the first time you will be able to preorder the book at http://chaosium.com from March 26th! You get the PDF immediately upon preorder.”

It is unfortunate to see the delays. But if we’ve learned anything over the last five years, it’s just how delicate the all-but-invisible ecosystem that holds up the illusion of our easy lives is.

It’s the sort of thing a once and future king might never have had to deal with. But he had his own troubles. Troubles which you can start contemplating yourself come March 26th!

Seriously though, you should give Pendragon a try!
