RPG: ‘Wildsea’s Bundle of Holding Brings Delightfully Weird Fantasy to You in a Neat Little Package

Wildsea is an award-winning RPG with one of the more inventive settings out there. Come explore all of it in a new Bundle of Holding.
Wildsea is a “weird-fantasy” tabletop RPG that won the ENnie for Best Writing when it debuted back in 2023. Set in a world where you sail across a vast, trackless forest in chainsaw-ships that cut their way across the treetops. Because deep down below are toxic, dangerous sprawls that are inimical to life. Your life, specifically.
It has become something of a sleeper hit since then. It’s imaginative world and Blades in the Dark adjacent mechanics draw people in for swashbuckling, “seafaring” type campaigns of journeys across the forest. But you can see for yourself, with a new Bundle of Holding that gives you all five titles in the Wildsea collection for one easy price.
It is absolutely worth checking out if you’re looking for a new RPG.
Wildsea Collection on Bundle of Holding
Wildsea’s verdant setting offers up a new lens for fantasy adventures. The world of the Verdancy is dangerous and toxic in places. But there are treasures to be found in the depths:
“Three centuries ago a tide of rampant growth overwhelmed the world’s empires. Now chainsaw-driven ships cut across the Verdancy, a dense forest canopy of toxic iron-rooted trees. You and your fellow wildsailors, humanity’s weathered descendants (and also cactoid gunslingers, centipedal fungi, silk-clothed spiderfolk, and even stranger things) explore the Tangle, hunt pinwolves and thrummingbirds, trade oilfruit and honey, salvage wrecks from the Sink, or seek thrills in the Foxloft, Spitskill Tide, Spearing Fens – even down in the Darkness-Under-Eaves, amid the bones of the old world. As the Wildsea hungers and grows, what will you discover in its depths?”
You can try out every book in the Wildsea line with this bundle. For $19.95 you’ll unlock the beautiful 368-page The Wildsea core rulebook; two Wildsea sourcebooks—Storm & Root and Ship Gardens; and two full-length adventures: the introductory One-Armed Scissor and Red Right Hand. Expansions and adventures—basically everything you need to dive feet first into the deep end of the setting.
I will say your group may need to tweak some of the rules—they can be a little kludgy here or there. But in my experience, a careful look at the rules, and a real strict reading of some of the mechanics usually offers the clarity you are needing. Massive Impacts are a game changer, if you remember they exist.
At any rate, the Bundle of Holding runs for just under two weeks, at press time. So check it out while you still can!
And if you dig its journey mechanics—consider stealing them for any seafaring campaign!
