So There’s a ‘BattleTech’ Cookbook (Look, I’m as Surprised as You Are)

Apparently even the greatest secrets of ComStar couldn’t predict this—but there’s a BattleTech cookbook out there now.
When you think of BattleTech, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Really take some time to think about it. When you consider the game that spawned beloved video game series, like Mechwarrior, a whole line of roleplaying and miniatures games that feature giant ‘mechs, including the king of them all, the Urbanmech, and the twisting world of the Inner Sphere, a fallen empire of various star systems beleaguered by an invasion of technologically advanced foes, known as the Clans—what’s the first thing that you imagine?
Excatly, the food that they eat. The grandeur of the Inner Sphere might be a fading sun, but the cuisine lives on in the inheritors of ComStar’s folly. Not even Kerensky’s descendants could have predicted flavors like these.
The BattleTech Cookbook: Recipes from the Inner Sphere is Real
If you’re sitting there wondering things like what or how or even why, you’re asking the absolute wrong questions. What you should be asking yourself is, just how deep of a cut will they make to give a recipe a puntastic name? And the answer is “they will cut right to the bone.” Because the recipe names come from “backer suggestions” which should tell you everything you need to know.
“The BattleTech Cookbook: Recipes from the Inner Sphere will include food and drink recipes with many names drawn directly from backer suggestions, giving such potential dishes and drinks as Eridani Light Beer, Tukayyid Teriyaki, Curd of Blake, Mackie & Cheese, and of course, Wolf’s Rangoons.”
Yeah, I’m mad that I didn’t think of Wolf’s Rangoons too. It’s been right there this whole time. But soon you’ll have a chance to see for yourself. As reported by ICv2, the book is headed for retail shelves April 16, 2025. So keep an eye out in your favorite game store (or on the Catalyst Game Labs’ website) to get your hands on the greatest secrets of the Inner Sphere.
Curd of Blake is immaculate. 12/10, no notes.
