Star Trek: Ascendancy has been one of my go to 4X games for a while. And, truth be told, I don’t actually know anything about Star Trek. Even still, it’s a great game I’ve enjoyed time and time again. And now, with Star Trek: Ascendancy – The Final Frontier, I can get everything the game has to offer, and more, all in one place.
Star Trek: Ascendancy – The Final Frontier Overview
Star Trek: Ascendancy is a competitive 4X game. Players eXplore different planets, eXploit those planets for their resources, eXpand their empire, and eXterminate anyone who gets in their way. Since the game’s initial release almost 10 years ago (time flies, huh?), there have been a number of expansions to the game, which each added new factions.
Star Trek: Ascendancy – The Final Frontier is the ultimate edition of the game, which likely marks the end of the game, in terms of new expansions. This mega collection includes 13 factions, including 3 new ones exclusive to the Final Frontier edition. Additionally, some factions have new rules to bring them in line with the other in terms of power level.
Also included are new game modes, including the option for NPC factions. This allows for full solo play or playing with a smaller group. Plus, the new campaign mode offers a narrative story to play through as well.
All of this is packed and designed to fit in a Kallax style shelf with a box the Borg would go crazy for.
