Star Wars: Legion – Geonosian Warriors Unboxed – Send In The Swarm
The Geonosian Warriors have an updated kit and we’re taking a close look at the contents for Star Wars: Legion!
There’s a new Geonosian Warriors Unit Expansion box heading to stores in April. We’ve got sent a preview copy from Atomic Mass Games and I got a chance to crack it open and take a look inside.
Now, to be perfectly honest, I didn’t get my hands on the original box for this unit. I managed to find an old article about them on the Atomic Mass Games Website and I honestly had a hard time telling what all had changed. The sculpts look the same and the card abilities are almost the same. That’s when I noticed the difference in not just the formatting but there’s another card in the new box.

The new box has updated cards with the current formatting. additionally, there’s another card in the box to expand the unit with more miniatures. I also think that you get an entire extra sprue for these miniatures in new box so you can build a full squad of 11. Anyhow, let’s get into the contents!
Geonosian Warriors Unit Unboxed
As mentioned this is a repackaging of the previous kit. As far as I can tell it has the new cards and another sprue. It’s also worth nothing you get a full play set in the box of the cards for each language supported. The contents also come in their own plastic bags as we’ve come to expect from an AMG product these days.
Here’s a look at the updated cards. The points are the same and so are the abilities on the card. But there’s the new squad upgrade card for 51 points so you can add an additional 5 warriors. Below those cards are all the additional playsets you get.
Finally, we get a look at all the sprues included. As you can see you get a total of three sprues. Two of them are the same sprue. The smaller one is what I can only describe as the “upgrade” options for the kit.

This expansion adds eleven Geonosian Warrior miniatures to players’ armies, including a Geonosian Warrior leader and eight Geonosian Warriors armed with powerful sonic blasters that are devastating at close range. Joining them are a Force Pike Warrior and a Sonic Cannon Warrior who can be added to the unit as heavy weapon options.
