The ‘Terraforming Mars’ RPG Raises Over $200K In Its First 24 Hours On BackerKit

They had me at “Terraforming Mars RPG,” honestly. Then they added words like “generational sci-fi” and “Ages of Mars”—which, again, they didn’t have to, but they did.
Shadowlands Games unveiled a new BackerKit campaign for a Terraforming Mars RPG. And it’s already wildly successful, having raised more than $200k in its first twenty-four hours on BackerKit. There are still two weeks to go and some very exciting campaign exclusive rewards, including naming a geographic landform, settlement, and NPC.
Terraforming Mars RPG – On BackerKit For Two More Weeks
This is just the first wave. In the stretch goals, Shadowlands Games outlines future plans for further crowdfunding expansions. This is a game, much like the source material, that you can sink your teeth into for months if not years, to come.
There’s a ton of stuff that will be ready to go with the first wave of fulfillment, including the core rulebooks, a custom GM Screen, and dice. You’ll play over the course of many generations – each Age will focus on a different set of player characters. But it’s the kind of long form campaign you just don’t find in many places.
