‘Total War: Warhammer 3’ Patch 6.1 Overhauls Kislev, Beefs Up Tzeentch, Adds New Units

Total War: Warhammer 3‘s new patch, 6.1 brings big changes to the Old World. Get ready to head back to Kislev.
In Kislev, the nights grow long, and Chaos grows closer—BUT they also just got a big rework thanks to Total War: Warhammer 3, Patch 6.1. Patch 6.1 brings with it a much needed overhaul for the beleaguered faction, as well as a host of new units, changes for other factions, and more besides.
If that isn’t excuse enough to jumpback in and start another playthrough, waging war once more to claim dominion over the Immortal Empires map, I don’t know what is. Mother Ostankya’s got some changes. Bears are bear-ier. There’s a lot to love about this patch.
Total War: Warhammer 3 – Patch 6.1, the Kislev Overhaul
Kislev is front and center of the new patch. Even now, the tension between the Orthodoxy and the Winter Court is being dissolved into more of a supportive framework. Where the two factions are still extant, and you can still feel the pull between them—but you’re not cutting off access to certain units/playstyles.
Now you’ll accrue support with both and gain different boons as you go along. You can spend your boons for powerful upgrades that stick around forever. You’ll just have to be careful and try not to imbalance your support too much in one direction or another, lest Kislev’s stability become threatened. Hm. Wonder if there’s a life lesson in there somewhere.
Tzeentch Has Changes in Store For the Fateweaver
But wherever the winds of change blow, so goes Tzeentch. And this time, Kairos Fateweaver gets some particular love in an overhaul of the “fragments of sorcery” system. Now Kairos can unlock different abilities much more freely, pulling out new spells ahead of each battle.
The buildings and unit availability tress for Tzeentch forces have also been reworked. Now you can get access to most things a little earlier, including Chaos Sorcerers and Secret Society buildings.
But there is so, so much more. Seriously, if you want to read all the patch notes, you can—just make sure you clear some time from your calendar. They are extensive.
Time to head for Kislev!
