Warhammer 40K: AdeptiCon 2025 Preview Predictions
With AdeptiCon 2025 happening this week it’s time to talk about what we’re hoping to see for Warhammer 40k!
Games Workshop announced the time for their AdeptiCon Preview show earlier today. Now we know it’s happening Wednesday Night at 9PM CDT. We also know what systems will be covered.
That said, we’re going to focus on Warhammer 40,000 for this one. Let’s see if we can make some predictions on what will be revealed. And I have a pretty big clue thanks to the roadmap…
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Rising
I think right off the bat we know what the Chaos Codexes are next. We’re due for World Eaters, Death Guard, and Thousand Sons coming hot on the heels of the Emperor’s Children. I’m betting we’re going to see more chaos miniatures at the preview. What will we see? That’s the question!
With the Emperor’s Children getting a full launch I’m betting that the other codexes aren’t going to get any massive shake-ups this go around. I’d expect to see maybe a new character or two. If we’re really lucky, we might see a fully new unit for one or each of these codexes. Fingers crossed on that one.
Armageddon 4.0?
Did anyone else notice that the “On the Horizon” features a trio of Marines Chapters that all fought at Armageddon? The first war for Armageddon had Grey Knights vs a Khorne invasion. I wonder if Angron wants to go for round two. That being a Grey Knight symbol we might get a bit more teases from them.
The next two are the Salamanders and the Black Templars. Both of those Space Marine chapters really got their start with the Codex: Armageddon. It would be something if GW made a throw-back book for these two chapters. Who knows!? There might be an Armageddon 4.0 in the works. Coming in the near future.
As for the Imperial Knights…well, they were supposed to show up already. So I’m not sure why GW pushed them back to later this year. We might see them show up, too.
What About The Future?
We’re still not sure about this teaser silhouette. I’m hoping that GW sheds some light on this one or at least keeps the gag rolling and we get another teaser about what it could be. But I’ve got an idea: Let’s take a quick count of the Indexes vs what we know is coming.
Sidenote: Where’s the Imperial Knight Index…
If we take out all the Chaos Cult Indexes, Chaos Daemons, the Chaos Knights, as well as the Grey Knights, and Black Templars that leaves us with the following Armies:
- Leagues of Votann
- Drukhari
- Space Wolves
- Astra Militarum
Of those four armies, which one do you think that silhouette is from? I don’t know for sure but I think we might be on to something!
Final Predictions For The AdeptiCon 40k Preview
I’m going to play it safe this year and say that GW is going to be highlighting the Chaos Cult Codexes. But I think if we’re going to make a crazy guess I’m going to say that this could also be the best time for them to announce a 40k version of the Dark Mechanicum. They are getting some love in the Horus Heresy and I wonder if GW is finally going to make that move with Vashtorr in 40k.
It’s been brewing in the background…Abaddon and Vashtorr’s big plan. C’mon GW…you know you want to!
I think there’s going to be a lot of Chaos unleashed at AdeptiCon 2025 for 40k!
