Warhammer: Kill Team – ‘Blood & Zeal’ Brings On The Faithful

Kill Team is getting a new boxed set and we need to talk about the Warhammer 40,000 miniatures in Blood & Zeal.
It’s a clash of two faiths in the upcoming box for Kill Team. This one promises to bring both the blood and the zeal but from two different sides of the conflict. We’ve got a pair of new Kill Teams in the box. One is the Sanctifiers, a warband of the God-Emperor’s faithful. The other is the Gormongers who witnessed a Bloodletter in combat — and lived to tell the tale.

Also included in the new box will be an impressive looking Imperial Shrine Statue. There’s a dossier in the box that includes lots of missions you can use centered around this statute as well. Additionally, there’s a hobby guide included that can teach you how to desecrate the statue in for the Chaos God…if you’re so inclined.
That said, let’s get a closer look at the Kill Teams included in the box!
Kill Team Sanctifiers
“What these zealous missionaries lack in armour they make up for in raw grit, fighting through injuries that would fell an ogryn with prayers on their lips and booming sermons in their ears. Many are equipped with searing flame weapons, packing a hefty punch at close range, and the presence of the Drill Abbot and Death Cult Assassin cranks their fervour even higher.”
It’s kind of neat to see a Kill Team of a bunch of “regular” folks. Sure, there’s a Death Cult Assassin in the mix (with a very different sculpt) but basically everyone else is just…people. Well, maybe the Miraculist will bring some psychic umph to the fight. We’ll have to wait to see their rules. Maybe the Kill Team’s righteous zeal will carry the day after all!
Kill Team: Goremongers
“Goremongers are among the most lucid and reliable of Khorne’s troops, pumping a constant flow of combat stimms mixed with drops of their masters’ blood into their systems while still retaining a modicum of cunning and level-headedness. The first thing they do is to cut off their own legs and graft on a new mechanical pair that brings them closer to the ideal physical form, armed with blood letting chainweapons and ritual daggers.”
The Goremongers might be Khorne Chaos Cultists at their core. However, they’ve also gotten some mechanical augments that make them kinda scary. Oh and those massive weapons are also intimidating. That said, I don’t see a lot in the way of ranged combat options. They might have a few guns but I think that might be their biggest weakness. But if Khorne doesn’t care where the blood flows from, I doubt they do either!
The pre-order for Kill Team: Blood & Zeal is coming soon. We’ll be keeping an eye out for this one in the very near future.
