Age of Sigmar: Cado Ezechiar Regiment of Renown Revealed

Get ready to call on The Blades of the Hollow King because Cado Ezechiar is getting a Regiment of Renown with his friends.
The Soulblight Gravelords are getting a new Battletome very shortly and with it are whole host of changes. There’s new units coming as well as the return of a Blood Knight Regiment of Renown. But that’s not all — Cado Ezechiar is also getting an update. Get ready for The Blades of the Hollow King to strike!
” The Blades of the Hollow King comprises three powerful individuals: Cado himself, the ferocious vampire duellist Sissendra, and Aurelias. “
Cado Ezechiar and Company
Operating as a unit, The Blades of the Hollow King are a trio of potent characters fighting as one. Cado and Sissendra bring a potent melee combo while Aurelias unleashes more magical options for the trio. Starting with Cado, he’s got a special rule to enlist the help of Solia the Tutor to aid him in battle.
Solia can give the unit a 5+ ward or turn Cado’s Ezechiarian Greatsword attacks in to Crit (Mortal) attacks. Both options have their uses and can you can choose which one to activate during Any Combat Phase.
Meanwhile, Aurelias can choose to cast another spell or you can re-roll one of the casting dice. This ability can be used on Cado’s signature spell Retribution or Salvation to ensure it is cast successfully:
This is another versatile spell as it can either do D3 mortals or can help keep a unit of Deathrattle or Deadwalkers in the fight by subtracting 1 from wound rolls on attacks that target that unit. Cado will fight alongside The Flesh-eater Courts, Nighthaunt, and Ossiarch Bonereapers.
Bonus Regiment of Renown – Beast of Castle Sternieste
Are you a fan of the new Dracolith and want to run one in your Death Army but play Flesh-eater Courts, Nighthaunt, and Ossiarch Bonereapers? Good news: There’s a Regiment of Renown for you! The Beast of Castle Sternieste is coming to play.
“The second Regiment of Renown is the hulking undead abomination known as the Beast of Castle Sternieste. A particularly fierce Revenant Draconith enslaved to the will of Mannfred von Carstein, it has been given free will by its lord to stalk the battlegrounds of his allies. “
Functionally, it’s a single unit of a Dracolith and it’s got a nice rule to allow it to heal 3 during your Hero Phase. Furthermore, it’s got more tools to help it stick around.
Honestly, this is just a great excuse to pick up this miniature and add it to any other Death Army. Having a random Dracolith in an Ossiarch Bonereapers list sounds like fun to me!
The Deathrattle Army Set is coming to pre-orders this weekend and the rest of the Soulblight Gravelords aren’t far behind.
