AoS: Roadmap – What Blades of Khorne Needs

The future is bright for Age of Sigmar fans, and there are a few things I’m hoping we see for the bloodthirsty barbarians – the Blades of Khorne.

Welcome in, Generals of the Realms! We recently got a massive wolf box for the Gloomspite Gitz, and a box of bones was hot on their heels with the Soulblight. Games Workshop has given players some really awesome stuff to players with these special boxes, and they don’t seem to be slowing down. The roadmap is positively stacked with new armies, and 4.0 just keeps getting better. However, we don’t know what we’ll get in the upcoming drops (if we get anything at all). That doesn’t stop us from hoping, however, and there are a few things that I would love to see for another upcoming army, the Blades of Khorne.

Return of Old Blood Tithe

A Warrior of Khorne

Honestly, Khorne isn’t in a bad place right now. Even with their imminent release, I don’t know that there’s much that can be improved. That said, I do miss the old Blood Tithe table, even if I hated facing it. Summons aren’t common in 4.0, so it would be hard to maintain the Daemon bits of the table. However, the army-wide buffs would be awesome to see, especially with the focus on thematic lists in games like Spearhead. Khorne loves violence, so I want to see a bonus for your army based on the amount of violence you can dish out.

More Anti-Spell Tech

Khorne vs Seraphon

As much as Khorne loves violence, he HATES magic. In a war where living spells are becoming more common by the day, I would love to see some tech to deal with them. The Blades of Khorne should get bonuses when attacking spells or magic items that give them extra benefits. While that doesn’t have to be on every unit, it should be on most of them. It would be especially cool if it tied into the previously mentioned Blood Tithe, giving them extra points for destroying enemy spells.

Ranged Support

Khorne has always struggled with dealing death from afar. Sure, they have the Skull Cannon and can take some Marauder allies, but that doesn’t really do the sort of damage that they need to stay viable. I’d love some Khorne-specific Marauders that can give them a little extra downrange support, just to make sure they can’t get kited to death. Otherwise I’m concerned that mounted armies are going to run circles around them, literally and figuratively.

What changes do you want to see for the Blades of Khorne?
