Bogs, Frogs, & Logs: Pathfinder Unveils New Starter Set: ‘Dawn of the Frogs’

Pathfinder has a new “deluxe adventure” coming out in September, and it’s a perfect starter set. Dawn of the Frogs heralds a new 2E age.
If there’s one thing that anyone in the tabletop gaming space can agree on, we love a big boxed set. Especially if it’s a boxed starter set. It doesn’t really matter the format, either. Whether it’s a Warhammer army box, a D&D starter kit, a niche skirmish miniatures “get your friends to play this” type box? Doesn’t matter. We love the promise, the aspirational possibilities of a single box that can corral our friends into falling into the hobbies we love.
So it is little wonder that Pathfinder has a new “starter set” coming. Technically this is a “deluxe adventure” by the nomenclature. But Pathfinder: Dawn of the Frogs is a boxed set of three adventures designed for 1st-level characters, along with everything you need to play through them, all in one box.
Pathfinder: Dawn of the Frogs is part of the Pathfinder: Game Night series. Althoough more accurately, it’s several game nights—unless you and your group can tear through RPG modules like nobody’s business. In which case, I salute you, and enjoy being able to both schedule a session and focus while you can!

So what can you expect from this starter set? As mentioned, it’s three short adventures aimed at 1st level characters.
Along with the three adventures, you get four pre-generated characters and all the sheets for them, as well as poster maps of all the combat encounters, a sheet of pawns for PCs and NPCs, and dice enough to roll through each encounter. Though you’ll probably want some more, but if you’re getting your friends into it, that shouldn’t be a problem. It really is a perfect little starter set.
“Gather your friends for the perfect taste of the Pathfinder RPG with this deluxe boxed set adventure designed specifically for brand new players! The small village of Bog Bottom has a problem—locals have been going missing near an old, abandoned mill in the surrounding swamp known as Dunmire. But what awaits discovery in this ruin is far more sinister than a few wayward villagers—Bog Bottom is going to need a new band of heroes if it hopes to survive the upcoming Dawn of the Frogs!
If you’re in Dunmire, be sure to check out the cones you find in any dunmire shire!
