Humblewood: Beyond the Canopy expands the setting with a new class, new subclasses and playable mammals. On Kickstarter now!

Humblewood is a D&D campaign setting that is absolutely for the birds. And the reptiles, and occasional mammal as well. Taking inspiration from fantasy like Redwall and NIMH and the like, Humblewood, when it launched, exploded onto the D&D scene with its avianfolk and delightful adventures. Now, a new expansion, Humblewood: Beyond the Canpy takes you into further corners of the world.

The new book adds new playable options for characters, ranging from new species like the cat-like Elturans and the parrotfolk known as Seetas; to new subclasses—even a whole new class, the Gadgeteer. The crowdfunding campaign is already wildly successful. More stretch goals promise new toys—and backers of the campaign can get an exclusive coloring book.

Humblewood: Beyond the Canopy – Kickstarting Now

We love Humblewood here at BoLS. It’s a vibrant setting, and hits D&D in all the right places. People love playing little animal guys, and Humblewood is just an amazing connection of weird little animal guys to play. Plus it’s its own campaign setting, full of adventure and mystery.

Speaking of adventure, there’s a new mid-level adventure as well. It sets up the whole reason for venturing “beyond the canopy” of the dense forest of Humblewood:

“Return to the world of Everden, where animals are the heroes! It’s time to venture beyond the canopy of Humblewood with this 250+ page book, packed with primal magic, adorable art, and a thrilling quest to save the continent of Wesden from an undead artificer trying to bring about a new Ice Age.”

In the core book, you’ll get six new species tackling everything from goat people to hummingbirdfolk, as well as the new Gadgeteer class (with three subclasses all itsow n), and new subclasses for Sorcerers, Paladins, and Monks. Along with the book, you’ll find a conversion guide for the 5.5E rules—and all that’s just a part of the core of the campaign.

Owing to the rousing success of the Kickstarter, there’s even more unlocked. Including Humblewood Music + Streaming License, a new adventure from the Dungeon Dudes, new minis and maps, with more yet waiting to be unlocked. The Kickstarter goes for another 15 days, so there’s still time to get on board!

To Humblewood – and beyond!
