Games Workshop Rumor Engine: Serious Skull Hardware

There’s a new Rumor Engine out from Games Workshop and this skull has some serious hardware attached to it.
We’re back here on another Tuesday to talk about the Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. This one is an interesting one and I think I know what we’re looking at. However, I think you might want to have a peek before I share my theories. So let’s do that.
“You think you’ve come up with a fresh new idea to tease – a big metal halo with a skull in it – and then it turns out that Space Marines have been doing it for years. So how do you reinvent the Warhammer equivalent of the wheel?”
Rumor Engine – Serious Skull Hardware
So what do we have? Well it’s a skull with a big iron halo around it. So it’s a Space Marine, right? Well…maybe. Notice the big hole in the forehead? Is that an extra spot for an eye? Or did something bore into (or maybe out of) the skull? That’s kind of a scary thought either way.
Whatever the case, my first thought jumped to a Psyker. I could be something like a Space Marine Librarian with a fancy new Warp-infused Force staff. But maybe it could just be an a sanctioned Imperial Psyker.
But going down that route, there’s also the fact that Chaos uses Psykers and this could have bene some sort of mutant third-eye Psyker.
Now for another gear shift — what if this is from the Mortal Realms? The Cities of Sigmar does like their weird relics. And Sigmar has also had lots of skulls and weird halo’s to go around, too.
So yeah… while my initial thought does go to Psykers in 40k, I’m also not ready to rule out stuff from AoS either. That said, I’m still not sure where that third-eye comes in at. So here’s where I kick it over to you. If you have any ideas of what this could be share them with the rest of us in the comments. This is a weird one.
Is it a headache or eye strain hazard?
