Huge LEGO ‘Game of Thrones’ Winterfell Has Thousands Of Pieces That The North Will Remember

This massive LEGO Winterfell is built from thousands of pieces and includes tons of details from the books.
Winterfell, home of House Stark. It’s the first location we are introduced to in A Game of Thrones. This, combined with it being the home of the closest the show/books has to “good guys” makes it one of the most popular locations in the legendary series.
Supposedly built by the Bran the Builder as a fortress for House Stark, the time the store starts it’s said to be over 8,000 years old. Over time, it evolved grew into a large castle complex. During the years of Northern independence in was the seat of the King In The North. By the time of A Game Of Thrones, the castle is old and venerable. While no longer the capital of an independent nation, it remains the seat of House Stark and one of the largest and most important castles in the Seven Kingdoms.
Huge LEGO Winterfell With Tons Of Book Details
Today, we are taking a look at a stunning LEGO Winterfell build. Built by Redditor Tobpe93, this MOC has thousands of pieces, and it’s very impressive! This build dominates a desk but isn’t so big as to be unapproachable! It’s clearly a labor of love from a book fan.
This build is very specifically based on Winterfell from the books and not the TV show. The builder is a huge book fan, but not the biggest fan of the show. So it’s maybe a little more accurate to call in Winterfell from A Song of Ice and Fire, though of course it features heavily in both Game of Thrones and A Game of Thrones! Because it is based on the book description, it may look a little off to show only fans, as it differs from that depiction a bit.
That being said, I think what really stands out here is the details and attention to the book lore. I like that the builder has gone off the high-pitched roofs to shed snow, which you see in the book and book art, but not in the show. I also think the Godswood is a standout bit. The details inside the castle are also really good, with all the rock and road work making it pop! Including the moat is also nice! You can see a great map of the layout of the build below.

A Closer Look
Here are a few of my favorite parts of the build and the battle!

Want to build an epic castle/fortress of your own? Well, LEGO doesn’t sell Game of Thrones sets, but you can build one from the other mega-popular fantasy franchise! For instance, the Dark Lord’s Tower!
The 5,471-piece build is split into four main sections; the tower section is fully modular. The dark tower features a throne room with a complement containing a map and a ladder to the top floor. The 4th floor is home to Mouth of Sauron’s study, while the 5th floor houses a tower library with a rotating ladder. At the summit of the tower is the Eye of Sauron, which rotates in various directions and features a light brick to make the eye glow.
There are also 10 minifigures, including Sauron, Mouth of Sauron, Orcs, Frodo, Sam, Gollum, and Gothmog.
