Avalanche, Exodus, and Lady Mastermind are all up for pre-orders for Marvel: Crisis Protocol and have a June release date!

Yesterday we got the news that Phoenix is coming in June. Well, as it turns out, she’s not the only one either. Avalanche, Exodus, and Lady Mastermind also have a June 13, 2025 release date. Which is great news for fans. However, I also know that these characters aren’t exactly household names. So let’s chat about these mutants!

Who is Lady Mastermind?

Lady Mastermind‘s name is Regan Wyngarde. Now, if you saw the name Wyngarde and thought that it sounded familiar, congratulations — that’s because she’s the daughter of the late mutant Jason Wyngarde…aka, Mastermind. She’s also got a few sisters which she feuds with…but that’s another topic. Anyhow, being a mutant, she’s got some special powers. Specifically, she’s got Telepathic Illusions she can use to manipulate people. And these illusions are so real they can kill.

For example if she makes you think you’re drowning your body will react like it’s drowning even if you’re in a perfectly normal room with air to breathe. She’s also got a sort of Psychic Chaff that she has which causes a sort of telepathic invisibility. This combination suits her name well as she can uses these powers to influence and manipulate her targets.

Who is Avalanche?

Avalanche is actually a rather old school mutant. He’s a long time member of the Brother of Evil Mutants and was recruited by Mystique. Avalanche was also part of the plot to assassinate Senator Robert Kelly so he’s got some deep-cut ties to the X-Men — specifically during Claremont’s famous run. Now, it’s also worth noting there’s actually two Mutants that have gone by that name before. But one of them is from the X-Men: Evolution series and is not the same character (based on the costume) coming to MCP.

Personally, I’m just glad to see him in the game finally. I have a soft spot for him because of his appearance in the 90’s X-Men: The Animated Series show.

Who is Exodus?

So Exodus has also been around the block quite a bit in Marvel. His first appearance was in X-Factor #92 (July 1993). While his powers are basically the same, he’s changed quite a bit in terms of character over the years. He’s originally from 12th-Century France and got his powers from Apocalypse. However, that didn’t end well and he was imprisoned in a crypt under the Swiss Alps. He stayed there until he was freed by Magneto in the 20th Century. This led to a bit of hero worship from him towards Magneto.

His story doesn’t stop there. There’s a LOT more. Team swapping, time-jumping, and being one of the 198 mutants that got to keep his powers after M-Day were just parts of it. He even joined the Krakoan council during the House of X series.

Power-wise, Exodus is considered an Omega-level mutant who’s got some crazy powerful psychic abilities. He’s got both telekinesis and telepathy. On top of that he’s functionally immortal, can heal himself, and can teleport, too! Honestly, I’m VERY curious to see what power’s he’s going to end up with on the tabletop. I’m also curious to see what Affiliations he’s in. He’s going to be a fun addition to the game.

Character Pack In June

Once again, while these three might not be as high profile as some other mutant characters they are all going to be welcome additions to the tabletop in my book. The pre-order for this Character Pack is up now and will be released on June 13, 2025.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Avalanche, Exodus & Lady Mastermind $49.99

CP173 includes a variety of Brotherhood of Mutant characters to expand and showcase more X-Men villains and characters. Bringing thematic gameplay to the table, with new abilities and rules, these new characters are an exciting addition to the Brotherhood of Mutants.

These characters work great with existing Affiliation Packs and Characters packs, expanding the roster of available characters and bringing more options for gameplay.
