The B2 Super Battle Droids are back with a new box and update cards. Let’s see what they are bringing to Star Wars: Legion.

When it comes to the Clone Wars the B2 Super Battle Droids represented quite the threat for the Separatists Army. These droids fought the Jedi to a standstill at Geonosis and it was only the arrival of the Clones that tipped the battle in the Galactic Republic’s favor. That said, they are back with a new box and card updates. It’s time to see how they can be used in Star Wars: Legion.

“Though seasoned players of Star Wars™: Legion are likely familiar with these infamous battle droids, new and experienced generals alike are invited to read along in today’s Scene to Stats for how to best deploy and combat the B2 Super Battle Droids!”

B2 Super Battle Droids

Clocking in at 64 points for a squad (before upgrades) this is a heavy hitting unit. Packing Wrist Rockets and Arm Cannons they want to close the gap and really unleash the firepower at short range. They are also Corps units and form the backbone for a lot of lists. Thankfully, they pack the punch and have the disciple (or maybe the programming) as well as the armor to absorb a heavy amount of fire.

“Their AI: Attack unit keyword encourages players to issue the B2 Super Battle Droids an Order or keep them near a Commander unit. If this cannot be done, they may only perform an Attack as their first action on their Activation, likely from a less-advantageous position than if they had been able to perform a Move action prior.”

In terms of upgrades, you can also add another member to this squad with the B2-ACM Trooper. This adds some extra firepower to the unit as well.

Alternatively, there’s a few other options you can swap to as well. The B2-HA Trooper adds a different weapon option and there’s also the 77 point card that allows you to add another four members to the unit.

This unit can be used for maybe different combat scenarios but really their role remains the same: be a problem for the enemy to deal with.

If you want to keep squad costs low, there’s also the option to add just one more miniature. Another good idea is to upgrade them with the HQ Uplink to provide them with a touch of autonomy. However you want to setup this squad is your choice. Personally, I like the intimidation factor of a big unit of them. There’s something to be said about bringing a quality unit in a quantity-manner.

The B2 Super Battle Droids are currently up for pre-order and have a release date slated for May 23, 2025.
