Star Wars: Legion – Rebel Troopers Unboxing

The Rebel Troopers are gearing up with new sculpts and a new boxed set coming to Star Wars: Legion.
It’s time to reintroduce a core unit for the Rebel Alliance. The Rebel Troopers are getting a new boxed sets with brand new, hard plastic miniatures. I got sent a preview copy from Atomic Mass Games so let’s unbox this new kit together. It’s time to stick it to the Empire!
The new box set is following the format changes to Star Wars: Legion in terms of packaging and all of the new standards from AMG. It supports four different languages, too.

In terms of contents we’ve got all the sprues, bases, and cards you’ll need to run this unit. They do come in plastic bags and are (obviously) unassembled and unpainted miniatures. Like most AMG products, you’ll scan the QR code on the flyer to access the building instructions.
As far as the cards, you get four sets. Above, I’ve laid out the English versions and used an additional version to show off the art-side of the unit card. If you’re looking for a more detailed breakdown of the unit’s stats and cards AMG has you covered. There’s also much larger card art direct from them as well.
In terms of sprues, you get three total in the box . Two of the sprues are copies while the third is for some of the special options and upgrades you can add to this unit. In particular, there’s a lot of different head variations on that third sprue. There’s also a total of 11 bases to use for this kit. In total, you’ll be able to build out the full squad based on the unit upgrade options you can choose.
Personally, while I do like that this box has new hard plastics I’m still not sure if I like the style of Rebels in general. This is a more of a personal preference thing though and not a dig at the quality or sculpts of these miniatures.
I’m more of a fan of the uniform look of the Storm Troopers or Clone units. I think their armor is just more intimidating and imposing. Frankly, it just looks a lot cooler on the tabletop. Rebels Troopers just aren’t my cup of tea. But that’s just my opinion on their style.
The Rebel Troopers new box has a shipping date of May 16, 2025 and is currently up for pre-order.

SWQ15 reintroduces the Rebel Trooper to the Rebel Alliance army. These are completely new miniatures, showcasing a variety of new poses and tactical builds. In addition to new sculpts, these miniatures are now in hard plastic material, providing a more crisp miniature for added detail.
For gameplay, this unit will be a good generic option for almost all Rebel Alliance armies and has a variety of builds to represent their tactical flexibility. Featuring new rules and options for Star Wars™: Legion, SWQ15 will be an important unit for players.
While I like the Rebel Alliance on principle, the Clone and Empire armies do have that cool factor.
