Two new Paizo books slated for winter have been revealed thanks to a pre-order page at Barnes & Noble. Aliens and dragons abound!

Barnes & Noble recently updated their website with pre-order listings for two new books from Paizo. Starfinder will get its second Alien Core, which includes a sci-fi update for Pathfinder favorites. And speaking of Pathfinder, players can expect a lot more dragons in the future thanks to the Lost Omens: Draconic Codex.

Both books are slated for a December 1st release. And strangely enough, though you might think the books are very DM focused, they provide plenty of new options for players, too. Let’s check ’em out!

New Starfinder and Pathfinder Books on Barnes & Noble

First up, the Alien Core 2. This collection of more than 200 new aliens is full of new monsters and old favorites. You’ll find a mix of sci-fantasy creatures like gremlins and Castrovelian oozes, to more strictly sci-fi fare, like good old assassin robots. Hard to go wrong with them. And because Starfinder 2E is compatible with Pathfinder 2E, you can use these creatures in either game!

Battles in outer space or on distant planets need aliens! Inside Starfinder Alien Core, you’ll find over 200 creatures, including science fantasy favorites like robots, spacefaring fey, and all-new dragons; alien beasts from friendly spiderlike empathnids to fearsome plantlike predator ksariks; and unique monsters that threaten the galaxy of Starfinder, like jinsul troopers and vicious Swarm subspecies. You’ll also find legacy Pathfinder creatures with a scifi update, like nanite-infesed allgolthus, and Starfinder classics like akata and tashtarai. These creatures cover all levels of play, from scavenging sluglike diathas to powerful Drift-dwelling spectra.

Then there’s the Draconic Codex for Pathfinder 2E. As you might imagine, it’s a book of dragons and dragon accessories. But you have to understand, it’s a big book of dragons and dragon accessories, clocking in somewhere around 224 pages. It comes with more than 20 types of dragons, expanding on existing dragons and new dragons. But there’s also plenty of stuff for players to use, including ancestry and heritage options for draconic characters, and draconic archetypes for all manner of dragon related play.

“Dragons! The very name invokes power beyond reckoning, fire that can melt mountains and fangs the size of swords. To face a dragon is to face the ultimate challenge of any adventurer’s career. The reward for victory: gold, enough to twist any mortal’s heart into a bigger monster than the one they just slew. Inside this tome lies the secrets of dragonkind, as well as those mortals who look upon them with awe or with bitter envy. Research a fearsome foe or summon the courage to make an ally of these primordial beings and put your strength and wisdom to the test. Success will see triumph beyond measure, while failure leads to an ignominious end within the dragon’s maw!”

Both books are due out December 1st this year, but you can pre-order them below!

Glad to see Barnes & Noble still going strong!
