Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos is the highly-anticipated game by Iconiq Studios coming to Kickstarter this summer!
Crystal Dynamics is one of those gaming companies that just knows what gaming is all about. They’ve been nailing it recently, with their recent remastered release of Legacy of Kain (look for my name in the backer credits!) and the upcoming RPG looks to be fantastic.
Now that they’re sated for vampies, they’ve turned their focus on genuinely one of the most influential characters in video games: Lara Croft, set to get her own board game sent to Kickstarter this summer!
Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos Overview
Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos is set to be a single-player narrative campaign taking heavy inspiration from the video game series. Players will be navigating treacherous terrain, dodging cunning traps, and taking down a multitude of foes.
Even though the game is slated as a single-player campaign, players can work together. They’ll make decisions on how to progress further. Individual missions can be taken one one at a time with random events and game elements. This adds hours of additional gameplay. Meaning this isn’t just a single one-and-done game.
In the game, Lara heads to the super spooky island of Kairos, in search for the Chronos Artifact. As the name suggestions, the device has control over time itself. But, as you might expect, Ms. Croft isn’t the only one on the hunt. Her old enemies, Natla Tech, are hot on the trail as well. They hope to retrieve the artifact to undo all of Lara’s meddling and get themselves back on track.
However, the mysterious Protectors of the island are no match for Natla Techs advanced military setup. It’s up to Lara to outwit Natla, navigate the island of Kairos, and find the Chronos Artifact before anyone else can. The entire future is at stake!
