Valda’s Spire of Secrets arrives on D&D Beyond, bringing with it a host of new player options to the digital platform.

Mage Hand Press’ big book of player toys (this is a more literal description than you might think), aka Valda’s Spire of Secrets: Player Pack has arrived on D&D Beyond. And with it? Tons of new player options for your next character.

The conceit of the book is that these are all options that exist somewhere in Valda’s titular spire. Valda himself is a lich – but a cool one, the kind who travels the multiverse collecting curiosities and treasures. Practically, this means that you’re going to see options that are a little on the lighter side.

For instance, two of the subclasses featured in the book are the Barbarian: Path of the Muscle Wizard (they ‘cast spells’) and the Paladin Oath of Revelry (the party dude). It’s very meme-orable, is what I’m saying. But they lean very hard into the concepts they are, which can prove quite delightful.

Valda’s Spire of Secrets Hits D&D Beyond

This player pack contains a ton of new options. Six subclasses, two new species, five new magic items, four feats, and fifteen spells all await you. And not everything is played for laughs – but if you’re looking for levity, you’ll find it here.

“In his extraplanar tower, the devious lich Valda grows his grim collection: heroes of every description from across the multiverse, petrified in marble and arranged by specialty.

Play as a living teddy bear or a musclebound “wizard” in this must-have pack of player options for D&D Beyond. Featuring two unique species, six innovative subclasses, new Chronomancy spells, and a hoard of magic items to bring wit, whimsy, and chaos to your game!”

The six new subclasses should give you an idea of the tone. Each one feels like it could’ve come from a Tumblr post, but in a good way. They are:

  • Barbarian – Path of the Muscle Wizard
  • Fighter – Dungeoneer
  • Monk – Warrior of the Street
  • Paladin – Oath of Revelry
  • Rogue – Arachnoid Stalker
  • Warlock – Future You Patron

But if that’s not enough, the two species are the plant-people known as the Mandrakes. And the living toys known as Gepettin. You can absolutely play as a teddy bear with a sword and shield. Or anything else you rant. Truly, D&D is awash with possibilities.

Now you too can cast fist!
