Alright Clix-fans, this one’s for you! Our friends at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought over the new set from HeroClix and it’s featuring the Clown Prince of Crime – it’s the Joker’s Wild!
HeroClix has been teasing this set out since before October and it’s finally out and in stores. This set is all about the Joker and his buddies showing up to do battle against Batman and his crew. Featuring heroes and villains from the JSA, Suicide Squad, and Batman’s rogues gallery it’s a neat set for DC fans of all ages. If you’re like me and you grew up watching Batman: The Animated Series (which is still the best DC incarnation of Batman, ever – I don’t care what you say) then you’ll instantly recognize a ton of the villains from this set. And it’s got everyone’s favorite Cosplay: Harley Quinn
This set also has a “quick start” pack you can get that will nab you some of the “Core” figures in this set. However, because it’s a Collectable Miniatures Game, the odds are stacked against you if you skip out on the booster packs. To the casual collector or player that might not be a big deal, but for some folks that difference between life & death (on the tabletop at least). You can always nab the Batman in the core set and look at him – the Dark Knight is one bad dude:
Overall, it’s a great set for fans of Batman to grab – but really if you’re a Clix player you’re probably going to want to get a few boosters like you were already planning on doing. For the collectors out there keep an eye out for all those random versions of Suicide Squadies as well as those lovable JSA members so you can keep it old school!
