Tabletop Spotlight: Tzeentch Daemon Releases
The final wave of Tzeentch Daemons is here – Are you ready for some change?
The Tabletop Spotlight is on the new Daemons of Tzeentch Releases! Our friends over at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought over 3 of the new box sets showcasing all the new Daemons of Tzeentch models:
Let’s talk about the Changeling first because it’s the first completely “new” kit from Games Workshop. This new plastic kit is a re-sculpted and plastic kit of the Changeling and it’s a big improvement.
The packaging is similar to the same style as Kharn or some of the other character kits that have been shipping in their own boxes vs clam packs. It’s actually two smaller sprues vs 1 large one. Once it’s assembled, you can’t really see where the cuts on the model are either – it’s a great kit!
Next up, the Blue and Brimstone horrors! Now, I know a lot of folks think that this kit is basically a reboxing of the same plastics from Silver Tower – I know I did! But after a taking a closer look at the Blue Horrors, they are actually different models from the Silver Tower kit.
I’m not 100% sure about the Brimstone Horrors, but those might be different as well. Either way, I really like all the character that each of the sculpts had and I’m glad to see them finally get a proper box. Plus, if you’re playing Tzeentch Daemons you’re going to need more than a couple boxes of these guys…
Last but certainly not least is the Start Collecting Daemons of Tzeentch box. This is another one of those fantastic value kits for getting started with your new Tzeentchy overlords. It includes:
- Burning Chariot of Tzeentch (with optional Herald of Tzeentch on foot)
- 3 Flamers of Tzeentch
- 3 Screamers of Tzeentch
- and 10 Pink Horrors
I’d also like to point out that the Burning Chariot of Tzeentch is the full kit so you can go bonkers with the different options. The box also includes Plastic Flamers and Plastic Screamers which were a big improvement over their metal counter weight parts. After chatting with Goatboy over the weekend I also learned that those two plastics (screamers and flamers) were released previously. So this is technically a reboxing but they looked so good I don’t even care!
Overall, this past weekend was awesome for all you Tzeentch fans out there. If you were considering playing AoS with a Tzeentch force, all of these boxes contain the rules for the models in AoS, or you can download them from their respective GW pages. Alternatively, if you’re a 40k player, the new kits have rules for you as well! So what are you waiting for? Go out there and get your change-on!
The Changeling $35
Blue Horrors & Brimstone Horrors $35
Start Collecting! Daemons of Tzeentch $85
Watch out for that Tzeentch Start Collecting Formation…it’s got some firepower!
