A 40K FAQ dropped that completely changes the matched play scene.  We get our hands on Codex Space Marine and hit the highlights.

A new FAQ for Warhammer 40k dropped over the weekend that completely changed the matched play scene.  I think it was good to publish that when they did, just after a major event and before the Space Marine codex officially hits the shelves.  We are are joined by two special guests as well, Carl Tuttle from The Independent Characters and Reece Robbins from Frontline Gaming.  We get our hands on the new Space Marine codex and hit the highlights. You don’t want to miss this.

This is an extra long episode.  We had to skip last week due to travel and the ATC but we are back with almost two hours of content.

Yo!

The first codex for Warhammer 40k 8th edition is up for pre-order now.  It is jam packed with new units, strategems, warlord traits, and psychic powers.  This book gives us an idea about what to expect for future releases.  Looking at the Chapter Tactics its clear to see that some Chapters made out a lot better than others but CTs are only a part of what gives the army character and depth.   Once you combine the unique Strategems, Relics, and units that maximize your theme you’ll find some great possibilities in this book.

In this episode we also talk about some FTN style missions for 8th edition.  You can find them here.  These have been play-tested and will be used in several 3 round tournaments over the next couple of weeks.  We would like to get feedback from you guys.  What works, what didn’t?  We’ll be publishing more very soon!

Our coverage for the ATC will be spread out over the next couple of weeks.  It will be very interesting to see how the tournament scene develops after that massive event.

The Primaris Chaplain featured above is AWESOME.  I can not wait to find a reason to get him in an army list.  In the episode we gush a bit over it, with good reason as you can plainly see.

If you’re a long time marine player there will definitely be a book you’re buying.  If you’re a fan of your Chapter’s lore you will not be surprised with how their rules shake out.  But as you are reading the spoilers here and on the Warhammer Community know that there is a lot more to a Space Marine army than just the tactics now. You will likely find yourselves dusting off models you haven’t touched in a while, like Assault Squads or that one Centurion Squad you built and painted up but left in the box because it didn’t have Grav Weapons.

I have my eye on Black Templars.  They have a Relic in this book that allows them to extend the range of their non special character’s special abilities.  Mmm.. Yes, please.

FTN mostly focuses on Warhammer 40k, but again you will see in the first few episodes we take a severe deep dive into nerdom. These have been a blast to record and I hope they help pass the time for you.
