Nathan Fillion is Nathan Drake in ‘Uncharted’ Fan Film
Nate and Sully pull off a dangerous double heist for treasure in this Uncharted fan film that stars Fillion in the lead role.
Uncharted made bank at the box office earlier this year despite critics’ ratings. Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake charmed audiences hungry for a fun, light adventure movie. It’s an origin movie that covers Nathan Drake’s first adventure fighting bad guys in exotic lands with sequences directly from the games.
Haven’t seen it? It’s still playing in some theaters and will debut on Netflix somewhere between July and September this year. If you need an escape and aren’t looking for Oscar-caliber performances, it’s a good option.
Uncharted Fan Film
Sony has been attempting to make an Uncharted movie since 2009. Around the time the Holland project was announced, director Allan Ungar created this short with Fillion. His goal was to show that a great movie based on the video game franchise could be made, but he had no expectations. He stated that, “at the end of the day, if this lives and dies as a 15 minute short that people love and get behind, we will have accomplished everything they wanted to do.”
Though the short didn’t pan out into a full-length feature, he created a great short. It feels just like the game – including Nate’s amazing bullet dodging abilities.
