Star Wars Legion: The Imperial Gunline
I’ve said before that the E-Web is one of my favorite guns/weapons in all of Star Wars. I can’t point 100% to why, but I think younger me found the name just hilarious. Anyway, since they’ve finally hit shelves for Legion I couldn’t wait to start making lists using them. Using E-Webs and some of the other more recent Imperial releases I’ve come up with, I think. pretty mean infantry gunline. Lets take a look at it.

Long Range Fire Power
The core of this list is based around putting out a lot of long range firepower. In my last list I talked about how powerful sniper teams can be. I still they are really good, in fact the Imperial sniper gets better dice than the rebel one. The ability to deal consistent damage from the across the table, not to mention suppression tokens, is pretty big. 3 Sniper teams provide a deadly part of the army. Over a few turns they wear down enemy infantry. Protecting them you’ve got the three E-Webs.
The E-webs put out good firepower at range 1-3,and with sentinel they are great for area denial. They are as tough as a base Stromtrooper squad, but will out shoot one. I gave them Overcharged Generators becuase I like extra black dice and more AT power. However the Barrage Generator is the same cost so if you felt you needed more suppression ability it could be a good choice as well. The two DTLs give the list some extra punch that can hit out side of range 3. The same is true of Veers Maximum Firepower ability. Deployed right, between Veers and the Snipers, you could get a whole turn of shooting, where the enemy can’t shoot back. The main goal will be to sit out of range plinking with DTLs and make the enemy walk into your redyed E-Webs.
Burn Them Out
Of course you do need the ability to take the fight to the other guy, as well as seizing ground. That’s where Fett and the Snow Troopers come in. Fett is a fast and flexible unit, that can flank the enemy, or close to mess up their gunline. I don’t know if he is 100% the best choice, but I wanted to give him a few tests. I really like the ablity to jump across the board and use his flame thrower. Snowtroopers are slow, but with grenades and a flamethrower of their own they are a great unit to clean out enemy holdouts after your long range attacks have worn them down. The two Stormtrooper units also serve as a ready reserve.
Final Thoughts
Looking at the list it seems to actually work a lot like a WWII infantry unit. With machine guns and snipers to slow down and suppress the enemy, and infantry to hold ground and mop up. Veers isn’t the strongest fighter, but hes good at supporting units and I think works well with this list. Hes also cheap so I can fit more in. I think the unit I’m least sold is Fett, part of me would rather have two more small infantry units, but we will see. Overall I just can’t wait to get some E-webs on the table!
