Earth has been occupied by an extra-terrestrial force for a decade with the help of human collaborators. A resistance is on the rise, though – and they’re ready to tear the whole thing down.
Captive State goes beyond the alien invasion, goes beyond the big battle, and examines what occupation might look like if the aliens had human help. It has a bit of a Watchmen call back to it – what will we do to stop humanity from spiraling into chaos? Will we concentrate on a common enemy even if it’s false? I’m looking forward to watching this unfold on a big screen.
It’s directed and written by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes); and stars John Goodman, Vera Farmiga, Jonathan Majors, and Ashton Sanders (Moonlight).
