Geekery: New Epic Comic Journey from Seth Rogan – ‘Good Boys’
The stars of this movie are not old enough to watch this red band trailer. Three sixth grade boys ditch school and find themselves in a heap of trouble while being hunted by teenage girls, carrying accidentally stolen drugs, and other mishaps. This is not something I’d normally cover but: Evan Goldberg (Preacher, Blockers), Seth Rogen (This Is The End, The Disaster Artist), Lee Eisenberg, and Gene Stupnitsky (both worked on The Office, Bad Teacher) put this together. It looks like a younger version of Superbad – middle school rather than high school shenanigans. Not sure how they’re going to replace McLovin, though.
You may recognize the trio of actors: Jacob Tremblay was in the latest Predator movie, Keith Williams is in The Goldbergs, and Brady Noon was a regular on Boardwalk Empire.
After being invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max (Jacob Tremblay) is panicking be cause he doesn’t know how to kiss. Eager for some pointers, Max and his best friends Thor (Brady Noon) and Lucas (Keith L. Williams) decide to use Max’s dad’s drone – which Max is forbidden to touch – to spy (they think) on a teenage couple making out next door. But when things go ridiculously wrong, the drone is destroyed. Desperate to replace it before Max’s dad (Will Forte) gets home, the boys skip school and set off on an odyssey of epically bad decisions involving some accidentally stolen drugs, frat-house paintball, and running from both the cops and terrifying teenage girls (Molly Gordon and Midori Francis).
Good Boys hits theaters August 16th.
