Highlights:This week the show take a bit of a different format with the ‘Show of Force’.This week it was ‘Veterans of the Long War’, a comprehensive look at the Chaos Space Marines!They opened up the show with their Hobby Progress updates and games played.Next, it was on to ‘Show of Force’ where the guys discussed the Chaos Space Marines.They opened up with some of the back story of the origins of this army, starting with Horus and the Hersey and they then moved on to discuss the Chaos gods and what they represent and how they influenced Space Marine chapters and the Warp.They talked about what happened to the Space Marines who went into the Warp.They discuss how they emerge far different than they were when they went in, how time is different in the warp, and how they are now seen by the rest of the Imperium.They next talked about some of their favorite historical battle of the CSM, their favorite Characters, and their favorite units from the stories and the codex.This included an interview with John French and his favorite character, Ahriman, and the best places to find great CSM fluff, like the Horus Hersey series.They also talked about the secondary support available out there for them from the Black Library, digital releases, and of course Forgeworld, models releases and conversion idea with some of the older kits.They closed out the show with their overall opinion on the army, from the fluff to their actual table top experience with them.They also had an interview with Alan Dehesa and they discussed the competitive CSM builds he has been using.
Opinion:This week’s show’s format is something I really enjoyed.The guys took the time to break down the CSM from the fluff aspects of the army and the entries of the codex.And while they didn’t do a unit-by-unit review like you might see on another podcast, they did cover the very rich history and backstory to the CSM.An outstanding idea and an outstanding show.Easily my top pick for the week!
Highlights:This week the guys recap the Las Vegas Open 2014!They open up the show with ‘This Week in Gaming’ where they cover the games they have been playing lately.This included quite a bit of LVO lists and how well they did at the event.Next, Eric was back with Tactical Terrain and this week he discussed the terrain setups at the LVO.This included standard table terrain setups and what that looked like, plenty of line of sight blocking terrain, and how the terrain could be used to your tactical advantage.They guys closed out the show with an in-depth look at the LVO and a little about TempleCon!Alan started it off by reviewing the lead up to the event, including registration, passing in of score sheets, round turn around and much more.A huge improvement from the Bay Area Open 2013.Alan then discussed the Tyranid list he too to the event, all of his games at the event, how well he did, and how he felt overall after the tournament.The guys then gave their thoughts on the results of the LVO, the lack of Tau on the top tables, and much more.
Opinion:So, in case you didn’t know, the Las Vegas Open was king of a big deal in the competitive scene in 40K. It was the first major event of the year and the first to dip its toe into the pool of rules alterations in a tournament.Overall, their coverage was really good, and Alan’s views from the event were quite insightful.For those who couldn’t make it, this is a good place to find out what the event was like.
Highlights:This week the boys look at the new Imperial Knights!They open up the show with the News.This included the new Imperial Knights Codex, the latest from Forgeworld, the Black Library and much more.Next, Jason had an interview with Lyle from their local club and they looked back at 2013 in a ‘Year in Review’.They covered all of the events that they ran, and some thanks to those who have donated to the club.They then moved on to what they have been up to lately in the hobby and gaming.Next, it was back to a very old segment, the ‘Room 40001’ segment where they banish something for 40K they no longer was to see in the game.This week it was the key Astartes rule of ‘And They Shall Know No Fear’ and if it should be removed from the game.Then, the guys moved on to the topic of the ‘Social Contract’ to playing a game of 40K and how it is meant to ensure that both people playing the game have a good time.They discussed a lot of idea on how to keep games friendly and fun for all.In the final segment of the show the boys discussed alternative deployments in the game, from reserves, Deep Strike, Infiltration, Scout, Outflank, and more.They talked about the tactical advantages of each and how they can be important to your battle plan.

Opinion:This week’s show had two outstanding topics, my personal favorite being the return of an old segment.Room 40001 was always one of my favorite and having it back on the show was great.But there is another gem on this one with the discussion on the Social Contract.I couldn’t agree more with most of what they had to say there.Check this one out.
Highlights:This week the guys talked all about the massive changes in the 40K world lately.They kicked off the show with some News and the announcements of Imperial Knights, Codex Legion of the Damned and how much material is too much material in a game?They even went into the LVO a bit and how the Jetseer Council, even under modified rules, still dominated the pack there.They then moved on to discuss the Imperial Knights and the rumors of an upcoming codex dedicated to them.They cover the reaction by the internet being overwhelming positive thus far, and some of the rumors of new dataslates and digital codices due out on the horizon.This spilled over to a conversation on the state of the game, what with new dataslates, and formations, and digital releases and more mucking up the field.Have we reached information overload in 40K?They closed out the show with their hobby progress update.
Opinion:Let’s face it gamers, the landscape of 40K is in one gigantic state of upheaval right now.With dataslates, digital codices, Imperial Knights out of the blue, who know where the game will be in six months.It was really interesting to hear the guy’s thoughts on the current state of the game, and I really enjoyed their opinions on the future of 40K.Good show guys!
Highlights:This week the guy opened up the show with ‘Operation Codex’ with a close look at the Troop choices from the Imperial Guard!Dave and BJ started off with the depth of the Infantry Squad and all of the additional squads that can be added to this single troop choice.They look at each of the squads that can be added to the Infantry Squad and what roles they play; the command squad, heavy weapons team, special weapons team, and how the orders make this choice so much better.They talk about the tactical applications of their troop choices and how Guard is still hanging around the top tables even in this meta.Next, Dave and Franco sat down to discuss Franco’s tri to the Dark Millennium tournament he is about to attend.They talked quite a bit about the release of Imperial Knights and the lists they reviewed from the LVO before discussing the Dark Millennium event.They gave some details about the tournament, why it is being run, and the details of the tournament, and the list Franco is taking to the event!He also looked at his first round opponent’s list and determines how well he matches up with it.Then in ‘War Stories’, BJ had an interview with Chris Gent and they discussed his gaming group Titans Wargames Club, the list he has been practicing against, Death or Glory 2, Escalation and Super Heavies, and some Tyranid conversation.Then, Franco and Dave were joined by Christopher Morris who played in the LVO and they discussed 6th place finishing Necron/Black Legion list.
Opinion:This week’s show was just loaded with some great topics!Operation Codex is always a great segment and for those who can’t quite figure out how IG troop squads work, here is your answer.The preparation for the Dark Millennium tournament were interesting (please attend day two Franco!), War Stories were interest to hear about a great gaming group, and the interview with Christopher Morris was outstanding.Overall, a really good show!
