New Dwarves & White Dwarf #2 Review FEB 2014
Issue #2 of the new Weekly White Dwarf has arrived, and everyone’s buzzing about the new Dwarf Gyrobomber!
This issue was 32 pages long, showcased the other Dwarf model releases, and gave us a sneak peak at the new Dwarf Army Book as well!
In case you missed it, the new White Dwarf is $4 an issue and is set to release four to five times a month.
Why the change? Could have been a number of reasons, but first and foremost may have been all the leaks that were occurring for new releases.
Phil Kelly seems to now have a weekly column in here, and in this issue there was a special Paint Splatter article featuring the new Dwarf models as well.
The biggest boon to the new weekly format seems to be the inclusion of a “official” rules section that showcases the rules for that weeks releases ahead of the main book release for that faction.
So in other words Games Workshop seems to be releasing model kits ahead of any rulebook for those same models, perhaps to illicit sales for units that players may not have ordinarily purchased.
From a business standpoint that seems good at first glance, but it’s unclear how it will work in the long run.
