Goatboy’s 40K: Against all Comers – To Build a LasVegas Tourney Army!
Goatboy here writing about my LasVegasOpen army. Here are some thoughts on the list I’ve packed and why I think it works with the 40K meta now.
The What: The List
I went with an all Slaanesh list due to just wanting to use some of my cool new paint jobs and to try out a horde rush list. Plus I didn’t want to get stuck playing Fateweaver so said screw it – all Slaanesh.
1750 – Slaanesh Army aka Pants off Dance Off Get in my Wizzard Van!
Warlord – HQ: “Come at me Bro!” Keeper of Secrets, Greater Gift X 2, Lesser Gift, Lvl 3 Psyker
HQ: Keeper of Secrets, Greater Gift, Exalted Gift (Portal mostly/Grim anti Daemons), Lvl 3 Psyker
I went with 2 Keepers because I wanted to paint the model below. And 2 Keepers means I can say I have a Van down by the river and some candy. Wuther Originals!
Troops: Daemonettes X 20

I have been enjoying big squads of troops lately and Daemonettes have been great every game I have played. It is all about figuring out your distance and your threat range.
Heavy: “D&$$o Prince” Daemon Prince, MoS, Wings, Armor, Lvl 3, Greater Gift X 2
I went with one Anti Flyer, Evil jerk face, and I wanted to use one of my Gun Prince models. He is a swiss army knife style of character.

I have tried to go with Grinders instead of FMC. I use them as Pseudo Dragons for most games as they come in, burn things, and cause problems.
The Why: The List & The Meta
I know the LVO environment will down come to a lot of games being decided on First Blood so having an army that doesn’t “need” cover saves mixed with large units should let me be ok. I know the Grinders can get killed pretty quickly but I plan on Deep Striking them to use most of the time. Versus other Daemons they will start on the board.
The Daemonettes allow me to kill just about anything – FMC’s, Nids, Wraithknights, and even that Pesky Riptide. They also don’t do too bad when dealing with the Captain America known as a Shield Eternal Chapter Master. The Daemon Prince is just a way to get another Anti Flyer plus Psyker jerk to cast Telepathy bombs sometimes.
If I play against other Daemons I will most likely take the Grim to screw their army up and their dreams of a 2++/3++. It is cuz I am a jerk. Plus Telepathy is the bomb so much of the time. I can’t take Bel’akor so I have to go this way in hopes to get my Telepathy bomb.

I should get you a full report from LVO later this week when I’m all recovered from a weekend of concentrated 40K and Vegas. I am exited to see a bunch of West Coast friends and to see a bunch of crazy 40k propaganda posters.
