Games Workshop is hardly done with Warcry – check out some of the exciting new models and future plans on the way!

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Warcry has been a great addition to the GW line-up and the fans have been responding well to it. Players from all over the world have been smashing each other in the skirmish combat game set in the Eightpoints. And if you have been wanting more for the game then you are in luck because there is more skirmish goodness on the way!

A New Tome Approaches

“[Tome of Champions is] a new book containing rules for all the warbands in the game (and much, much more besides!), meaning if you missed out on their faction cards, you’ll still be able to play with them.”

This is great news for folks who might have skipped out on the packs of Warband Cards because they thought they were going to be around forever. It also sounds like GW has even more planned for this book. I’m wondering if the Tome of Champions will have any points changes or updates, similar to the General’s Handbook, or if it’s just going to be rules and possibly more missions. Basically – what is the “much, much more” that GW is referring to?!

Spire Tyrants Teased

We’ve been waiting on the Spire Tyrants since we got our hands on the core rule book and spotted them along with Scions of the Flame. Today, GW is finally giving a teaser of what we can expect for these devotees of the Varanspire’s Fighting Pit.

“As an early teaser, here’s one of the barbarous pit-fighters from the Spire Tyrants – the battle-hardened gladiator tribes from the Varanspire itself.”

Well now, this Spire Tyrant certainly has the Gladiator look down. Perhaps the rest of the warband will become the defacto replacements for the Chaos Marauders…I’m stoked to see what the rest of the warband will look like!

More Monsters Inbound

Hey – are you a big fan of the extras from Monsters & Mercenaries? Do you enjoy the added missions and unique challenges of taking on massive beasts and trying to subdue them to your cause (or just take their stuff)? Well GW has more goodies on the way for you – including monsters you have never seen before! Meet the Fomoroid Crusher:

That is quite and interesting paint job! I’ve got so many questions as well. Is this a member or off-shoot of the Fimir? You might remember them from the Forge World unit or even the old school Hero Quest model.

They certainly share a similar name and the fact that they apparently have a single eye is also a dead giveaway.

At the same time, this Fomoroid looks very different in body shape! Whatever the case, I can’t wait to see what else GW has planned for these guys. Perhaps a new Chaos race…or something else new?

Last Call For Starter Boxes

And a final note – the Starter Boxes of Warcry “won’t be around forever” according to GW. At least in their current configuration. So if you’ve been on the fence about getting a box, you might want to get a move on. Alternatively, you can always grab a copy of the rules and the warband you want to play. And probably one of the terrain/board combos:

The starter set is a pretty good deal if you want either or both of the warbands included. But even if you miss out, the Iron Golem and Untamed Beasts are now available for purchase solo.

That’s all for this update from GW on Warcry. It sure looks like GW is looking to support Warcry with more future plans and I’m really curious to learn more about the Scions of the Flame and the rest of the Spire Tyrants!

What do you think of the new models and future plans GW has for Warcry?
