Fantasy Flight Games Announces Fallout Shelter: The Board Game
The Overseer has died! Now you must prove yourself as the most capable of becoming the new Overseer by running the Vault as smoothly as possible.
Fallout Shelter: The Board Game is a worker placement game based on the mobile game of the same name (minus the “: The Board Game” part). Players will each take control of one layer of their Vault-Tec Vault, issuing commands to their dwellers and making everyone happy! The player with the happiest dwellers at the end of the game wins and gets voted in as the new Overseer.
On their turns players will order their dwellers to specific rooms or order the construction of additional rooms. Each room offers different activities for the dwellers in which to partake.
Each room has 2 spaces for dwellers and offer a reward, albeit sometimes with a cost. For example the Fitness Room offers additional Happiness at the cost of an Item. As with any Vault-Tec Vault, nasty buggers from the Wasteland will occasionally make their way into the vault.
It’s up to the dwellers to deal with the nuisances. While you could certainly charge in headfirst, with fists full of rage, and a heart full of recklessness. You’re probably better off using a weapon. Venturing out into the Wasteland is dangerous, but it can offer some exciting rewards to those lucky enough to find them.
But won’t the dwellers be in danger out there in the Wasteland?! Well, sure! But with proper training, danger can be greatly reduced! Each dweller can gain SPECIAL training, to make them better at certain tasks, and gain double the rewards when performing a task in which they are trained!
Once the Vault has been built up enough the deadline to the election comes and whichever officer has the happiest dwellers gets voted in as the new Overseer!
