40K HOBBY: A Death Guard Fortress
Sometimes, you need to just relax, kick back and immerse yourself into the hobby. I bought my army a summer home.
I was feeling a big burnt out on the hyper-competitive scene and said “it’s time to take a step back”. Apocalypse was a perfect diversion, and at times like these I always turn back to my Heresy Death Guard army.
So I ordered myself the core of something that would represent the grandeur of the Great Crusade, and the tough against all odds nature of the Mortarion’s Legion.
basecoated a flat brown from Lowes… |
An Aquila Strongpoint, some trenches, and gun emplacements. Just the type of entrenched position the Death Guard could hold and enemies would dread being ordered to take. Plus it would look great on the tabletop. Here’s the results.
Here comes the giant housebrush and white drybrush (1/2 a pint!) |
roughing in the details and the corroded vertigris on the turret |
And finished…
Mortarion, Typhus and Garro inspect their new home. |
and vortex missiles! |
So what do you think, and what type of “just for the fluff” projects have you done recently?
