Faeit’s 40k Rumor Tarot: Seeking the Truth, Dark Vengeance, and Chaos
This weeks rumor roundup includes the 6th Edition Starter Set, possible Chaos Space Marine Release dates, and what lies ahead through this year and the next.
Forces are rising once more to engage in the eternal conflict that lies before us. There is only War, and even though victory over an enemy that cannot be destroyed is our only means to salvation, defeat brings nothing less than damnation for all of mankind.
Chaos Space Marine Codex:
The Chaos Space Marine Codex is one of those highly anticipated releases we are all waiting for. There has been a lot of rumors that generally say we are looking to October for this release, however we have a few select rumors saying otherwise.
A few weeks ago now, there was a special guest on Faeit 212 during a QnA session for the Chaos Marine codex, the following was said regarding the release time frame.
As of July 25th, CSM book is set to release in September along with the starter (though not the same week).
Now along those same lines, TastyTaste on BoK has very much said the same thing, that we will see this codex in September. This keep on line with a lot of what I have been hearing as well, although for the most part, the rumor mill is still dictating an October release. With September right around the corner, it won’t be long to know where it will fall.
Dark Vengeance:
The name of the 6th Edition starter set was given out this week as Dark Vengeance, where BoW listed out their rumor on what is going to be in this release. Note that it does correlate with what we saw on a chinese leaked copy.
20 Cultists armed with auto guns and pistols
6 Chosen with a variety of power weapons and boltguns
1 Chaos Lord with power sword and plasma pistol
1 Hellbrute with a multi-melta and powerfist
Dark Angels
10 man Tactical Squad armed to teeth with plasma guns, a heavy plasma cannon and a sergeant with plasma pistol
5 Deathwing Terminators with an assault cannon and chainfist option
3 Ravenwing bikes, with a plasma option of course
1 Dark Angels Company Master (Balthasar) with powersword
1 Dark Angels Librarian with a Forcesword
1 limited edition Interrogator Chaplain
Details of the rulebook come from Faeit 212 and are the following.
There’s a “Let’s Get Started” insert, that is 8.5″/11″ and a few pages that goes over movement, shooting and close combat with full color pictures, and also includes all the rules for the models in the set. It’s designed specifically for the starter and the examples it gives to explain things are with the units that you get in the box.
In addition, you also get a rulebook. It is a miniature, black and white softback of the main rulebook stripped of any of the fluff and most if not all of the images.
It includes all of the USRs and is word for word the rulebook.
Future 40k Releases
Harry’s 40k codex release order from Warseer
CSM
Dark Angels
Tau
Sisters
Eldar
SM
We had a large release of what appears to be a leaked schedule starting in June of 2013. There were a lot of models on that list, specifically Tau, Eldar, Space Marines, Sisters of Battle, and Orks. I am not going to list out what was on it, you can check either Faeit 212 or BoLS Lounge for the complete list. (if you have not seen it, I suggest that you do look into it.) Whether or not this was a true leak, is yet to be seen, and there are some concerns with the information as it currently stands.
Harry’s release order though, looks very exciting, and does fill in that missing hole between Tau and Eldar that we were seeing. Sisters of Battle would be a very nice release next year.
Crack Down on Rumors
Earlier this week there was word of a new crack down on rumors hitting. It included a 6 month (no new releases) lock down on stores that leaked information or sold White Dwarf or other new releases early. Luckily for us, that rumor was a little bit overly dramatic and was only partially true. Here is what was uncovered on Faeit 212
the source is slightly mistaken.
Efforts are currently underway to provide retailers with product the day before the actual release, to allow them time to prepare.
In some cases, product is released earlier than that.
Stores caught releasing information or products early (whether for sale or not) will not be “cut off,” but instead will get their product on the next shipping date (typically one week) after it’s official release.
I don’t know where this “6 months” business came from, but it’s incorrect.
Make sure to check back here at Bell of Lost Souls often to find out the latest on what is coming, and then join the conversation over on Faeit 212.
There is definitely so much on the horizon with GW’s releases, are your wallets ready?
