Warhammer 40K: Fabius Bile’s New Army
The Doctor didn’t come alone…
GW is back up and running and they are rapid-firing Psychic Awakening books out the door. War of the Spider starring Fabius Bile arrives this weekend and let’s take a look at the first set of rules in decades for an all new type of army – Creations of Bile.

Right off the bat, head back and take a look at what we already know about Fabius Bile’s stats and rules here.
Ok, you’re back, onto the army.
Creations of Bile
Now a quick aside to look at all of his rules over the last few editions to get you up to speed. Fabius has had his ups and downs across the decades with an entire army back in the Legendary 3.5 CSM codex, and single unit upgrades since then. But it looks like GW wants to return The Spider to his previous Days of Glory, with an all new CSM faction.
You will be able to create a”Creations of Bile” faction keyword and apply it to your battleforged detachment. Everyone gets the keyword, effectively forming a new SM Legion. And of course, once you start taking the Doctor’s medicine, a whole new world of opportunities opens to you.
Creations of Bile Upgrades
GW looks like they are treating Creations of Bile like any new CSM Legion/Chapter, so they get their own pages of Warlord Traits, Relics and Stratagems. Here’s a few to get you mad-scientist gears turning:
Get stuck in faster, but only for those who are hitting the CSM gym every day. Skinny Cultists need not apply! 
Nice defensive buff. This one harkens back to some of the horrifying visage upgrades you could buy in the old Realms of Chaos hardcovers from the 1980s.
Who remembers these adorable little ones?
Here’s the default advantage for the Creations of Bile. That seems really, really good. I’m assuming there is more to it than just this. Default S5, M7 CSMs seems super potent!
Very, very useful relic. 6 eyes required for use. To get this advantage in 9th, I bet there are a few PLAYERS who would cut a deal with Fabius!
Thoughts
The big question of whether Fabius will be able to make an entire army of these upgraded CSMs before the game like he could in previous editions – has been answered. 9th Edition will see Fabius returned to his most potent form, rivaling his earlier 3.5 Edition Codex days.
Everybody start stocking up on CSMs, Spawn, and Greenstuff – this army won’t be converting itself.
