Geekery: Memories are Questioned in WII Era Thriller ‘The Secrets We Keep’
A Holocaust survivor questions her own memory when she sees one of the men that tortured her and the women she was hiding with.
Noomi Rapace stars as Maja, a woman rebuilding her life along with her husband, Lewis, in America after World War II. One day she encounters an eerily familiar figure from her past life – but is he really the man she thinks he is? Convinced he is, Maja takes things into her own hands and kidnaps him, setting in motion a series of memories and events that will change her whole perception of the truth.
The movie also stars Joel Kinnaman, Amy Seimetz, and Chris Messina.
It’s definitely not your average post-war revenge thriller – it has an extra layer of madness and the characters have more than a few secrets. Can they trust their memories or each other? We’ll find out who is lying when the movie hist screens.
The Secrets We Keep is set to hit theaters September 16.
