Games Workshop has got its sights set on Kill Team Team as a franchise with plans to support it with new releases every quarter.

Quarterly new releases are planned by Games Workshop for Kill Team moving forward. Octarius was just the beginning and it appears that GW is in this one for the long haul. These types of releases aren’t new by GW standards either. Necromunda, as one example, also gets an update once a quarter and it appears that Kill Team will be undergoing a similar support model.

“In fact, this launch box will be followed up with major new releases every quarter – alongside substantial additional support in places like White Dwarf. In other words, there’s a lot more in the tank.”

From this infographic it sure looks like we’re going to be in store for a lot more Kill Team in the future. The big news is that more Kill Teams are planned and on the way.

“We can’t tell you too much more right now, but you can expect a conveyor belt of new kill teams with plenty of customisable options.”

New settings, models, and Killzones are being teased for at least the next 3 quarters. It’s going to be really cool to see what sorts of Kill Teams GW puts together. This sounds like a great way to update some kits for those “specialists” that would be included in Kill Teams. I’m also curious about the Killzones and setting they have planned. GW mentioned the “exotic battlefields” of the 41st Millennium. So it doesn’t sound like they are running out of terrain kit ideas either!

“Each quarter, Kill Team will visit a different corner of the galaxy and explore that setting and the battles that are fought there.”

We’ll have to wait until next quarter to see what sorts of support Kill Team gets. I’m liking the idea of new models, specifically the highly customizable and modular ones, getting released once a quarter. I can’t wait to see what GW has instore for those.
