Age of Sigmar: Battletome Art Showcase – Stormcast Eternals vs Orruk Warclans
Games Workshop just dropped a massive art cache from the upcoming battletomes for the Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Warclans – behold their artistry!
One thing Games Workshop does well (besides miniatures) is creating cool art for their games. The artwork can be inspiring and impressive. Today, GW has unleashed a trove of cool shots from the two upcoming battletomes and it’s a visual feast. Get ready for some eye candy!
“Today, we’re taking a closer look at some illustrations from the upcoming Battletome: Stormcast Eternals and Battletome: Orruk Warclans to see which faction has the upper hand when it comes to epic artwork. “
It’s an epic battle of art! To kick things off, check out the covers:
Both of these covers look excellent. They are sure to inspire many games and armies to come. Now then – let’s take a look at a few shots from inside each book.
In This Corner – Stormcast Eternals
Yndrasta, the Celestial Spear leads the Stormcast charge in the new edition. Not only does she have an amazing model, her artwork is just as inspiring. Crashing through some chaos-infused beasties is no small feat – and it’s captured here in glorious detail.
Here we have a look inside some of the inner workings of Azyr. We see Lord-Commander Bastian Carthalos in procession with some Azyrite priests/wizards. Surrounded by fellow Stormcasts and the soft glow of Azyr itself it’s quite a piece. But Stormcasts aren’t the only thing in the battletome…
There be dragons. Get ready for more epic artwork in the book for sure!
Hailing From The Swamps
The Swamps hide secrets. And smells – don’t forget the smells. The swamps are also home to the Kruleboyz, the latest Orruk Warclan to be introduced. They are venturing out of the Bayous in this artwork. Those aren’t happy little trees marching to war.
This art isn’t new, but it’s still pretty stunning. It’s a combined force of Ironjaws and Bonesplittaz battling some Seraphon. The tides of battle don’t appear to be on the side of the space-lizards in this one.
Gobsprakk, the Mouth of Mork is also blasting on the scene. This new Orruk character is going to pack a punch on the tabletop and this artwork is a great visual of him riding into battle to make with the stabbin’ of da shiny ones.
And finally we have this piece. I think GW summed it up best:
“This pair earns bonus style points on account of their matching outfits. We knew Kruleboyz were more cunnin’ than most, but that’s impressive dedication to aesthetics. “
They aren’t wrong. And these pieces are just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a lot more art coming on both books. What’s your favorite?
Art imitates life…on the tabletop!
