The starfighter proved to be more than a natural fit for Ren, and his inherited piloting skills. After all, Ren is the son of Han Solo and grandson of Anakin Skywalker, both famed pilots in their day. This helped Sienar-Jaemus Fleet Systems refine the onboard workings of the TIE Silencer. Together, they evolved the space superiority fighter into a beast noted for its speed and ferocity.
Weapons Systems
The TIE Silencer was developed as a multi-role strike fighter. As such, it came with two SJFS L-s9.6 laser cannons and two SJFS L-7.5 heavy laser cannons, used for taking on larger targets and punching through armor. There were also launchers capable of delivering ST7 concussion missiles, plus mag-pulse warheads. There was also a proton torpedo launcher to be kept around in case he needed to blow up a reactor core.

The Fall of the TIE Silencer
Though family is ultimately what led to one of the greatest failures of the TIE/vn starfighters. During the battle after the evacuation of D’Qar, Kylo Ren piloted the TIE silencer made an attack run on the Raddus’ bridge. That’s where General Leia Organa, his own mother, was stationed. Though Kylo Ren set out with the intent of killing the Resistance, and in particular his mother, the Dark Side user would ultimately fail to pull the trigger. He abandoned his attack run, allowing the Resistance to escape. That was a move that would ultimately lead to the destruction of the Mega–Class Star Dreadnought, the Supremacy.
