Total War: Warhammer 3 – Tzeentch’s Heroes And Lords
The Changer of Ways has many a trick up his sleeve. And on the battlefield, as you’ll see with the newly unveiled heroes and lords!
The forces of Tzeentch are poised to bring Chaos and ruin to the world–as are all of the Chaos gods, but Tzeentch manipulates reality and time itself to ensure that even when he loses, he still wins because everything happens…just as planned. And helping Tzeentch along the way is a host of Daemons who wield fate itself as a weapon. Let’s check ’em out.
We start with the Legendary Lord, Kairos Fateweaver, who was cast into the Well of Eternity and clawed his way out with two heads: one sees the past, one sees a world of possible futures. However, this leaves Kairos blind to the present. But even so, Kairos is still powerful in his own right. As an unparalleled spellcaster, Kairos has plenty of powers capable of crushing your enemies. Like all Tzeentch units, he comes with a Barrier that acts as a regenerating damage shield (regeneration only works outside of combat), making cavalry and skirmishers surprisingly resilient.
But that’s just the start. Kairos also has unique powers that make him an absolute tyrant on the battlefield.
- Fragments of Magic – allows Kairos to acquire and equip fragments of other spell lores, giving him access to several spells from that lore. Only one fragment can be equipped at a time.
- Staff of Tomorrow – Kairos’ powerful artifact allows him to reduce all his spell cooldowns in an instant.
- Gaze of Fate – paralyze a unit to prevent its movement and vastly drop their melee attack
Then there are the Lords of Change. Unpredictable and manipulative, these heroic lords of Tzeentch delight in the breaking of the world, when fate is redirected. Lords of Change are powerful combatants as well as powerful wizards. They specialize in spells that allow you to debuff your enemies or to deal egregious amounts of damage. They specialize in the Lore of Metal, and all that comes with it, or the Lore of Tzeentch, which has a number of new spells:
- Blue Fire of Tzeentch
- Pink Fire of Tzeentch
- Treason of Tzeentch
- Glean Magic
- Tzeentch’s Firestorm
- Infernal Gateway
Herald of Tzeentch are more stable types of Horrors who have been crafted to take up a greater purpose in Tzeentch’s schemes. The Heralds of Tzeentch can ride Discs of Tzeentch or burning Chariots and they can use spells from Metal or Tzeentch’s lores.
As for the Heroes of Tzeentch, there are many. Cultists of Tzeentch serve unique roles in Tzeentch’s forces. They carry out strange rituals and schemes, and are unique among Tzeentch’s heroes in that they have access to the Lore of Fire, allowing them to help control the battlefield as well. And as they grow in power they can summon daemons directly from the realms of Chaos.
When a Pink Horror is granted capabilities beyond the norm, they may become Iridescent Horrors. This changes their form, turning them into masters of the magical arts, as well as devastatingly powerful combatants in a fight–and on top of that, they gain powerful “locus magics” which they can use to buff their allies or summon more horrors to their side.
These units shall lead the way for Tzeentch’s great hosts.
