Is it a cat? Is it a Lizard? Doesn’t matter — it will eat your face. Meet the new Khimerix for House Escher!

There’s a saying that if a typical house dog was as big as a horse you could ride them and have a great mount but if a house cat was the size of a horse it would kill and eat you. Well, apparently, House Escher heard that saying and thought, “yep, sounds like a plan.” And thus the Khimerix was born… Sorta.

“House Escher do a roaring trade in exotic pets bought both from the noble houses of Necromunda and off-world, but they’re also known to gene-splice their own phantasmagoric creations. These creatures are usually sold to the gladitoria, where they prove very popular.”

This is the Khimerix model and it’s pretty crazy looking. It’s got a sort of cat-face and front half mixed with a lizard’s back half. It’s also got wings? I’m not really sure what’s going on there. But it’s certainly got that gene-spliced feel to it. Also it looks like it’s broken free from it’s chains and is on the loose now. I’m also a tad confused about the bow/ribbon on the right arm – It’s a pet so maybe that was something the owner did.

At least before it broke out and ate everyone.

It’s not just a killer in looks either. The Khimerix has a potent Crushing Blow to pair with those looks:

If you’re looking for something to add some uh…’fun’ to your House Escher Gang, these creatures make great gang stronghold guards. I mean, it’s a guard-cat/lizard thing and I’m sure it would be happy to maul intruders into your gang’s turf. It might even be a fan of the Necromongers and want to “keep what you kill.” You know…for food.

The Khimerix is coming to pre-order from Forge World soon. But this isn’t the only funky pet for House Escher. Don’t forget about the Phyrr Cats!
