Strixhaven’s new orientation video showcases the latest and greatest from the magical campus. Plus sneak some peeks at the upcoming book!

Curriculum of Chaos is really taking shape in this orientation video for Strixhaven students. Most schools are getting ready for extended holidays. But this magical college is rolling out the welcome mats.

The academy is hoping to enroll a whole new class of adventurers– especially mages. Come and see what’s in your welcome packet.

The video is a broad overview of Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos. But we get a look at some of the amazing artwork inside the book.

There’s also peeks at a few of the rules and events we can expect to see on campus. For starters, let’s take a look at the new campus map from Strixhaven’s orientation video. It certainly reveals some magical facilities:

For instance, the Biblioplex is a place that collects all manner of knowledge from all throughout the multiverse.

And the Firejolt Cafe is a great place to find a job if you’re a student hard up for cash. And you’ll probably want a job to help manage all the new relationship mechanics of interacting with NPCs in Strixhaven.

Each adventure represents about a year of schooling. Over the course of your adventures, you’ll come across more than 40 new creatures and NPCs. Each of them is detailed in a Strixhaven bestiary.

There are some more lighthearted aspects of magical college life. The orientation video for Strixhaven also gives us an up-close look at Mage Tower, a magical sport that’s played by wizards. But don’t worry– we won’t snitch if you convert the mechanics to another well-known magical sport.

Whimsy defines a life at Strixhaven.

In the video, we learn that certain spontaneous events exist in the world. Adventurers might come across some on their own, or a friendly student might invite them to join.

Not sure that these students are “friendly”.

The orientation video for Strixhaven included a few examples of these events. There’s even a magical skate competition in a giant concrete-like skate park. Or maybe you prefer an homage to Pitch Perfect which results in a “sing-off”.

Tropes like this seem to be pulled from familiar movies, and will help make the adventures of Strixhaven quite unlike anything else you’ve seen in D&D.

At least that’s the hope. We’ll see in a few short weeks if the book can pull it off. Also worth noting, we got a look at possibly-new magical items: scroll blasters.
