D&D: ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ Patch 7 Prep Notice Is Out
Get ready– Baldur’s Gate 3 developers Larian Studios announce another Panel from Hell (and Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7) is incoming.
Larian Studios dropped more news about Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 dropped Patch 7 today. In an official “pre-patch announcement” the developer revealed that a new Panel From Hell is inbound, and it’s going to be chonky.
Weighing in at 32GB, this new patch will bring the total size of Baldur’s Gate 3 up to 100 gigs. Which is almost as big as Total War: Warhammer 3. Time to invest in an external hard drive, I guess.
Larian was light on the details as to what we could expect, though they did drop a few teasing hints. Let’s take a look at the Pre-Patch Announcement:

t has been a whole festive period since we’ve spoken. We’ve not been resting on our yule logs, though. Patch 7 is almost here, and we’re so excited for you to play it we could explode. That isn’t necessarily a hint, we’re just very excited. We’ve got a Panel from Hell coming up to properly reveal it, but let’s just say it’s going to be….pretty cool.
Ok, that might have been a hint as to what will be in the show itself – just keep yourself calm and all will be revealed soon.
Are they saying that whatever is going to be in the patch is going to be cold? Is this some kind of ice sorcery? Probably not. But it’s probably a safe bet to assume we’ll see a new batch of spells and dialogue, given the size of the patch:
Now, on to the meat of the day: Patch 7 is on the horizon, weighing in at approximately 32GB (so clear some space from the digital platter!), so we have to remind you that any saves made on Patch 6 or prior will no longer be compatible when updated. With Patch 7 installed, the total install size for Baldur’s Gate 3 will be approximately 100GB, so make sure you have plenty free.
